The third and final part of a monograph on the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter aircraft in G and K versions. It discusses their combat use during the last three years of World War II on the fronts of Europe and North Africa. The battles on the Western Front in 1944-1945 are described in detail, including the defence of the Reich, the battles in Normandy, the Ardennes offensive, the strikes on airfields in Operation Bodenplatte and the final defeat of the Luftwaffe. Unit operations on the Eastern Front are also discussed, including the clashes of Erich Hartmann and other JG 52 aces. A separate chapter is devoted to the use of 'Gustavs' beyond the Arctic Circle. It concludes with a brief overview of the service of the Bf 109 G and K in the air forces of the Third Reich's allies: Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Italy, as well as neutral Switzerland.
Text in Polish and English, 140 pages, 186 photographs, 18 sheets of model drawings in scales of 1:32 and 1:48, including a list of external changes in the serial versions of the aircraft, 11 pages of colour charts with 11 examples of painting.
