Background information of the Do 217J-1/2
The Do 217J-1/2 was a night fighter based on the successful E version of the German Dornier Do 217 bomber. Developed during World War II, the aircraft was mainly used for night attacks on enemy positions and aircraft. The aircraft's imposing armament and massive nose made it an effective weapon in night air combat. With this model you can bring a piece of history to life and prove your skills as a model builder!

Il Dornier Do-217 è un bombardiere tedesco bimotore di medie dimensioni della seconda guerra mondiale. A causa di fattori esterni, viene spesso scambiato per la versione di sviluppo di Do-17. I primi progetti del nuovo velivolo furono creati già nel 1937, ma la produzione in serie iniziò alla fine del 1940. La prima unità a ricevere la versione bombardiere Do-217 nel marzo 1941 fu il II Gruppe appartenente al Kampfgeschwader 40 (II / KG 40). Il Do-217 aveva una portata, una velocità e una capacità di trasporto di bombe molto maggiori rispetto al Do-17. Le macchine Do-217 furono utilizzate principalmente nel Mediterraneo e nella campagna aerea sulla Germania contro i bombardieri strategici alleati.
